My Experience with Levana Complete Nourishments

I remember first meeting Sara Esther Crispe many years ago in, of all places, Caracas, Venezuela. We were on the same talk circuit in an exciting program called The Day of the Jewish Woman. I met her again at many subsequent events, and all I can say is, if she’s coming to your town, run to hear her. Inspiration and fun, all in one evening!

I thought if she could speak so eloquently on so many subjects, she would do the same for our product, and inspire many of us out there, striving to maximize their nutrition the natural way, without slaving in the kitchen.

Sara Esther is on a Weight Watchers Diet, and was nice enough to do all the math with Weight Watchers Points! Weight Watchers Fans, you’ll be happy!

Over the past number of years I have had the privilege to speak alongside Levana for various events. During these events I had a chance to experience her love of cooking, food and health. Because of this first-hand experience, I knew that she only uses the best ingredients and that everything she makes is healthy, wholesome and delicious.

So I was quite excited when I saw she was launching her line, Levana  Nourishments.

However, I happen to be extremely picky when it comes to shakes. I am very sensitive to texture and anything grainy or chunky bothers me. And I rarely like the taste of so many different ingredients mixed together. That said, I knew her shakes were worth a shot, so I ordered the sampler.

I travel a lot for speaking engagements and often need a quick healthy meal on the go.

Additionally, I had started Weight Watchers a few months back so I wanted to ensure that I could have something healthy and filling that was easy to pack.

Because I am doing Weight Watchers I knew that would make a difference as to what base I would use with my shakes. For anyone else using this system, I added the three shake flavors to the Weight Watchers Points System so that others users can now find them under “Levana Nourishments” in their online app. The Cocoa Coffee is 5 points, the Berry is 6 and the Vanilla Bean is also 6. Being that only 30 are allowed a day, this is not insignificant, though thrilled to say that it is truly a Nourishments and gets me through a number of hours feeling energized and full.

So far I have tried three different types of base for the shakes. Since I am sensitive to texture, I only use the shakes when I can blend them in an actual blender. First, I grind the mixture for 10-20 seconds and then have it on the smoothie mode for another 20 seconds. Then, I pour this into a mason jar and it is just over a full mason jar’s worth.

My absolute favorite shake is Levana Nourishments Vanilla Bean!

I use one cup of Califia Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk (1 point on Weight Watchers), one cup of water, and one ripe banana. Califia is the only brand of almond milk I can find near me that does not contain carrageenan. This combination is absolutely delicious.

For the Cocoa Coffee I mix in one cup of Unsweetened Hemp Coconut Milk which counts for 2 points on Weight Watchers. I use a cup of the Hemp Milk and a cup of water. This is also delicious when mixed with a banana. I also have tried this with Quinoa milk.

I also use the Califia Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk with the berry mix. All three of these bases are non dairy. I mixed in a banana as well with the berry mix. When I tried the berry mix though with the hemp milk I did not like the taste. So it is really important to play around with different bases until you find one you really like. And clearly you can play with the amount of liquid as well to make the shake thicker or thinner.

I have been using the shakes when traveling and also before working out at the gym in the morning.

Levana Nourishments shakes have been the perfect solution to provide energy without feeling overly full.

If I drink a shake at 8:00 am, and then workout, I am completely satiated until around lunchtime at 12:00pm. I am not hungry at all and have a ton of energy and when I have my shakes I do not have my coffee in the morning. The Cocoa Coffee is decaffeinated and yet it totally does the trick for me.

Last week when I was traveling I had a long drive and then a flight. I had a shake at 7:30 am along with an egg white omelet. I then had an apple and string cheese on the flight. Due to my work schedule the next time I ate was much later in the day. I was completely full and had the energy to run around during an active day of work until I had a break to eat a real meal.

Levana Nourishments Shakes works well both before and after fasts.

I will have a shake as the final thing I have before the fast begins and then will break my fast on a shake as well. While generally I do fast pretty well, I have found that the shakes keep me both satiated during the fast and I no longer suffer headaches or lethargy following a fast when I break the fast with the shake.

Since I am doing other things alongside the shakes for weight loss, I cannot say if the shakes are directly contributing to that or not. However, I can definitively say that for the total points (7-8), which is roughly a meal, I am satiated for the length of time of a meal. And I can rest assured knowing that I have filled my body only with healthy vitamins and nutrients.

I highly recommend trying these shakes and suggest you keep playing around with different ingredients and bases until you find what you love!
