OATStanding Oats Recipes:
This should be the title of my next cookbook! I am so crazy about oats, and have so many oats recipes up my sleeve, I find making my selection exquisite torture! Horses know what’s good for them – and so should we!
My love for Oats and Oats Recipes goes way back to my lean student years.
Oats were my best friend! And I still spread the oats love mighty thick, to this day. My Whole Foods Cookbook is chock-full of Oats Recipes as well!
Great Nutrition AND Great Flavor for pennies? I’m there!
There’s a good time to share my Healthy Cooking Survival Guide with you. And since I absolutely love cooking with kids, who love cooking with me, I am sure you will enjoy my piece on Children Real Food Revolution, where I included, as I am here, a shoutout to www.bestforthekids.com, as we share a love of feeding children real foods, nutritious and delicious. In these two blog posts, I am positively waxing lyrical about oats recipes. Oat lovers just can’t help it!
Just recently, I gave a Cooking Demo at my children’s Early Learning Center.
The theme was, what else, Making Healthy Kids Meals. And the best part was, I sneaked my Levana Nourishments in every single fantastic dish we made!
I was honored to be asked for a review of OATrageous Oatmeals, by Kathy Hester
Another treasure trove of Oats Recipes!
Kathy Hester and I share an abiding love of all things oats, savory, sweet and even cosmetic! That’s right: Even bath soaks and mud packs! Not a single groat will go to waste. I hope she will forgive me the parody on her oats pun: I just couldn’t resist! OatRageous, OATstanding: Get it?
Quick Nutritional Powerhouse Profile of the Wondrous Oat.
Borrowing Oats Nutrition Information from www.Healthline.com: I couldn’t say it better or more thoroughly than them! Exact nutrition information chart is right on their site!
“Oats are an incredibly nutritious food packed with important vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. In addition, they’re high in fiber and protein compared to other grains. Oats contain some unique components — in particular, the soluble fiber beta-glucan and antioxidants called avenanthramides. Benefits include lower blood sugar and cholesterol levels, protection against skin irritation and reduced constipation. In addition, they are very filling and have many properties that should make them a weight loss friendly food. At the end of the day, oats are among the healthiest foods you can eat.”
Here are some, yes, just some, of my favorite oats recipes.
Gluten-Free friends, you will be thrilled!
Starting with Oat Milk. The recipe from www.theminimalistbaker.com is perfect and so versatile! I often make it with even more water: 1 cup oats, 6 cups water and 1 scant teaspoon sunflower lecithin. The lecithin is a perfect, all natural suspension agent, which keeps the blend from separating, and makes it look professionally homogenous and smooth.
